Why Is My Ping So High?
High ping in Warzone is caused by Wi-Fi instability, slow DNS, background downloads, ISP throttling, or distant servers.
Step-by-Step Fix
Use a Wired Connection
Wi-Fi adds latency and packet loss. Connect via Ethernet cable directly to your router. For long distances, use a Powerline adapter.
Change DNS Servers
Go to Network Settings → IPv4 → Properties. Set DNS to 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4 (Google) or 1.1.1.1 / 1.0.0.1 (Cloudflare).
Close Background Apps
Pause downloads, close streaming apps (Netflix, YouTube), disable cloud sync (OneDrive, Dropbox), and limit other devices on your network.
Enable QoS on Router
Log into your router and find QoS settings. Prioritize your PC or Warzone ports (TCP/UDP: 3074).
Flush DNS and Reset Network
Run in CMD (Admin):
netsh winsock reset
Upgrade to a Wi-Fi 6E router if wireless is your only option. If available, switch to a fiber ISP connection — going from 30–60ms (cable) to 5–15ms (fiber) is game-changing for competitive shooters.
